Day 3 of taking 5 days to see the possibilities of how a growth mindset can have in our lives. This series is about sharing with you one of the three important aspects of whole-body wellness, the mind. During these 5 days, we will cover; Abundance, Thankfulness, Acceptance, Positive Self-image and Discomfort.
Before social media, people compared themselves to only a few people. Now, we can literally compare ourselves with everyone on social media. No amount of self-improvement can make up for self-acceptance. If you are not happy now, you will not be happy once you drop 10 pounds – or whatever.
Comparison leads to criticism.
Fundamentally being in the habit of criticizing yourself leads to a constant loop of self-judgment. It is the habit of the human mind to judge. So, we have to think about judgment differently. We have to take judgment less seriously.
Robert Holden, PHD, the director of The Happiness Project, says that “we will never become happy, we can only BE happy. There is a world a difference between searching for happiness and following our joy. Following our joy has an internal orientation.”
Just remember that you can only compare yourself to you. Yes, each night as you examine your conscience, you can see if today you were better than yesterday. Did you improve your eating habits, did you exercise, did you improve in virtues.
So I challenge you not to compare your family life, homeschool curriculum, dinner plans, Sunday dress to others. No, pray and in close relationship with Christ, He will show you want is best for your soul, family, and vocation.
Today, I challenge you to think of 3 strengths and 3 vices. See how you can improve in removing those vices and remind yourself of your strengths.
Again, it will take more than just these 5 days to really set our mindset towards wellness, that is why we develop a Mother’s Mindset program so that you can take the time to really see where your mindset is and how you can grow it.
Please comment below and let me know what your thoughts are about Acceptance.
With the Love of Christ,
