In the year 2020, amidst a landscape shadowed by darkness and death, we find ourselves immersed in uncertainties and chaos.

Yet, as Lent draws to a close, we hold onto the unwavering belief that darkness cannot prevail, that life triumphs over death, and that on Easter Sunday, Christ will rise again.

The hope of the Resurrection and the illuminating Light of Christ are eternal, transcending all trials and tribulations. In the face of an unprecedented wave of loss, I have realized that many depart this world in solitude, physically alone.

However, through the profound grace of Jesus Christ found in the Divine Mercy Chaplet, no one truly departs alone. Christ promised to St. Faustina:

“Pray fervently for the dying. Through your prayers, implore trust in My mercy, for they need it most when they possess it least. Know that the eternal salvation of certain souls in their final moments hinges upon your intercession.”

“I will intercede for the dying not as a stern Judge, but as a compassionate Savior.”

“At the hour of death, I will stand before My Father on behalf of every soul who recites this chaplet, or even when others pray it for a dying person.”

Did you know that St. Faustina once prayed for a stranger at the hour of his passing, witnessing a remarkable intervention of Divine Mercy?

“As I prayed, I beheld the man, tormented and besieged by the forces of darkness, with his Guardian Angel valiantly defending him. However, he seemed overwhelmed by the magnitude of his suffering. A legion of demons awaited his soul. Yet, as I recited the chaplet, I saw Jesus, radiating with divine light as depicted in the image, enveloping the man with His rays. In an instant, the powers of darkness fled, and the man peacefully surrendered his spirit.”

Through this experience, I came to realize the profound significance of the Divine Mercy Chaplet for the dying.

Therefore, let us commit to fervently pray this potent and exquisite prayer each day for the souls departing this world.

In the year 2020, amidst its trials, let us beseech God for His boundless mercy upon our souls and upon the entire world, especially those facing the threshold of death. This is the divine purpose that God has entrusted to me — to spread the message of His merciful love to all corners of the earth.
